The Early Years, between age 3 to 6 are foundational years, as during this time the child is growing rapidly, both physically and mentally. The child is constantly assimilating new experiences and using these to form the person he or she will become in future years. |
| The child interacts in the classroom which is non-competitive and adult supported. It aims to provide a foundation for the development of skills, knowledge and understanding required for successful participation in school life. The programme provides a secure, stimulating and supportive environment for children where learning takes place and creative expression is encouraged. The programme is designed for the children to make meaningful choices and share responsibilities as they move through the learning process. |

We use a curriculum well suited to the three to five year olds, meeting their needs and level of readiness. The teacher is an observer and a learner as well as a teacher in the traditional sense. Our learning system takes into account cognitive, intuitive, social, effective and non-verbal skills. At École Mondiale, the Early Years curriculum will include core subjects of Language, Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science. In addition the programme offers Physical Education including Yoga, Dance, Computer, Music, Art, Drama and Library time. Play is an essential component in the curriculum as it enables children to make meaning of their environment through real life and imaginary activities. Children acquire skills that will enable them to explore their own environment, solve problems, work cooperatively and achieve on-going academic success.
